Abstract

The development of science continues to take place very quickly, along with human needs for science which continues to increase in realizing their desires and hopes, so scientists think hard for the benefit and harmony of human life. This research aims to compare the theories of knowledge from Ibn Sina and John Locke as representations of the acquisition of knowledge according to Western and Islamic philosophers. The research method used is a qualitative method and a philosophical approach. The Concept of Acquiring Knowledge Based on Ratio and Reason. , Ibn Sina is famous for his theory of knowledge because in his theory of knowledge he tries to maintain the relationship between servants and their God, while John Locke is famous for his theory of tabula rasa which is a reference in thinking about single ideas and then complex ideas.
