Journal of Kutub Turath and Pesantren Studies (JKKP) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. The journal was established in 2026 and first published in Volume 1, Number 1 (2026). JKKP is published biannually (April and October) and is available in both print and online formats.

JKKP is dedicated to advancing scholarly studies on Islamic intellectual heritage (kutub turāth) and pesantren traditions as dynamic centers of Islamic knowledge transmission. The journal provides an academic forum for critical, historical, philological, pedagogical, and socio-cultural analyses of classical Islamic texts and the lived scholarly practices of pesantren and other Islamic educational institutions.

The journal promotes interdisciplinary and critical approaches that connect classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary educational, intellectual, and social issues within pesantren and the wider Muslim world. JKKP encourages original contributions that engage with both textual traditions and empirical realities of pesantren education.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to: studies of classical Islamic manuscripts and texts; tafsir, hadith, fiqh, usul al-fiqh, kalam, tasawwuf, and Islamic ethics based on classical sources; philological and manuscript studies; pesantren curriculum, pedagogy, learning systems, and institutional development; history and sociology of pesantren and Islamic scholarly networks; intellectual biographies of Muslim scholars; digitalization and preservation of Islamic intellectual heritage; and comparative studies of traditional Islamic education in Southeast Asia and beyond.

JKKP welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, and critical reviews from local, regional, and global perspectives.
