Focus and Scope

Tammat: Journal of Critical Hadith Studies is a leading scientific journal published twice a year and managed by the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Sunan Gunung Djati State Islamic University, Bandung, Indonesia. This journal serves as an academic forum for lecturers, researchers, and enthusiasts of hadith studies to publish research findings, new ideas, and scientific approaches that strengthen the understanding and practice of Takhrij al-Hadith in a more critical, systematic, and innovative manner.

Strengthening the study of Takhrij al-Hadith as a major scientific discipline in hadith studies.

Developing a critical approach and reassessing the methods, frameworks, and practices of takhrij in both classical and contemporary contexts.

Opening up scientific discussion spaces for research that encourages methodological innovation and cross-perspective readings of hadith sources.

Tammat accepts relevant research articles and scientific studies, including but not limited to the following themes:

Takhrij al-Hadith methodology and techniques (classical and modern).

Critical studies of sanad and matan within the framework of takhrij.

Evaluation of the quality of narration, the authority of sanad, and the validity of hadith transmission.

Comparative studies of takhrij methods among scholars, madrasahs, or scientific traditions.

Interdisciplinary approaches in takhrij: philology, history, manuscript studies, social sciences, digital studies, and humanities approaches.

Technology-based innovations in takhrij research: hadith databases, manuscript digitization, and digital analysis of transmission chains.
