The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Articles published in Asy-Syari'ah are articles that examine issues related to Islamic Criminal Law legislation, thought, and reform in Indonesia and abroad. The required elements of an article are: 1) title, 2) author's name, institution name, and e-mail address, 3) abstract and keywords, 4) introduction, 5) methods, 6) results and discussion, 7) conclusion, and 8) bibliography.
Writing style
Articles published in the Al-Jina'i Al-Islami Journal have the following writing style:
Accepted articles are those written using MS Word, B5 paper, 15 to 20 pages in length, with one-point spacing and using Garamond 12 pt font.
The title of the article is written specifically and effectively, with a maximum of 15 words in Indonesian or English.
Author's name and institution. The author's name must be accompanied by the author's institution, email address, without academic title and position.
The abstract is the essence of the paper, written in one paragraph, using Indonesian and English, and a maximum of 150-250 words. The abstract is made in one paragraph consisting of background, objectives, research methods, results, and conclusions.
Keywords consist of 3 to 5 keywords that reflect the concepts written in the paper.
Introduction consisting of background, literature review (to compile the state of the art), objectives, and problem formulation
Methods. This section covers research design and subject, data collection, research procedures, and analysis techniques.
Results and Discussion. This section consists of the latest data analysis, hypothesis testing, and answering research questions, and findings. The discussion involves the interpretation of the results, comparisons with other research and theories, and the implications of the research results.
Conclusion. This section contains research conclusions and suggestions made based on the findings, which are indicated at certain points with operational suggestions in short paragraphs.
References. Provide information on the literature used in the article with 80% primary and current literature (from journal and research articles) and 20% textual citations (maximum last 5 years).
The tables and graphs used must be accompanied by sources and numbering.
Footnotes and bibliographies use the Al-Jina'i Al-Islami Journal writing guidelines.
The language used in Asy-Syari'ah is good and correct Indonesian or English.
Footnote style
The footnote system applied in the Al-Jina'i Al-Islami Journal is the 17th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style (Full notes) and uses the Mendeley/Zotero/Endnote reference management tool).
Bibliography
The bibliography in the Jurnal Al-Jina'i Al-Islami is arranged alphabetically based on the last name of the author cited. The format for writing the bibliography follows the 17th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style (Full notes).
