AUTHOR GUIDELINES
Wastu Adabia: Journal of Language and Literature
General Requirements
-
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration in any other journal.

Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. The journal uses plagiarism detection tools, and articles with similarity above the accepted threshold will be rejected.
-
Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian.
-
Manuscripts must follow the journal template and be typed in Garamond 12 pt, 1.5 spacing, on A4 paper size.
-
All submissions must be made through the Wastu Adabia OJS system:

Manuscript Structure
A manuscript submitted to Wastu Adabia must include the following components:
1. Title Page
The title page must include:
-
Title of the article: Concise, informative, reflecting the main content (Garamond, 14 pt, bold, centered).

Full name(s) of author(s)
-
Institutional affiliation(s)
-
Active email address(es)
-
Abstract (approximately 150–200 words), which includes:
-
research purpose,
-
method,
-
results,
-
conclusion,
-
significance or implication.
-
-
Keywords (3–5 terms): separated by semicolons.
2. Manuscript Body Structure
Research articles should be organized into the following sections:
a. Introduction
The introduction should include:
-
background of the study,
-
theoretical framework and literature review (state of the art),
-
research purpose,
-
problem formulation.
The introduction is written without subheadings.
b. Method
The method section should describe, in paragraph form:
-
type of research,
-
data sources,
-
data collection techniques,
-
research instruments (if any),
-
data analysis procedures.
c. Results and Discussion
This section should present:
-
the research findings,
-
interpretations and analysis,
-
relevant discussions linked to theories or prior studies.
Tables and figures:
-
must be centered,
-
numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Table 2; Figure 1, Figure 2),
-
tables must have titles above them (centered),
-
figure captions placed below the figures,
-
sources of tables/figures aligned to the right beneath them (if applicable),
-
all tables and figures must be referenced in the text.
d. Conclusion
The conclusion should:
-
summarize research findings clearly and concisely,
-
state theoretical or practical implications, especially in the fields of language and literature,
-
be written in Garamond 12 pt, bold, without indentation.
No new data or references should appear in the conclusion.
e. Bibliography
-
References must follow the APA (7th edition) citation style.
-
Authors are required to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
-
All sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.
Additional Guidelines
Transliteration
If Arabic terms or classical texts are included, authors should use the Library of Congress (LOC) transliteration system for Arabic–Latin romanization.
Length of Article
The recommended manuscript length is 5,000–8,000 words, excluding bibliography.
Language Quality
Manuscripts must be written in clear, academic English or Indonesian. Authors are encouraged to seek language editing services if necessary.
Submission Checklist
Before submitting, ensure that:

the manuscript follows the journal template,
-
all authors' information is complete,
-
the similarity index is within acceptable limits,
-
the reference list is formatted in APA 7th style,
-
tables and figures are properly labeled and cited.
