Peer Review Process
The Journal of Reksakerta follows a Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure the highest standards of academic rigor and impartiality in evaluating submissions. This process ensures that both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other, promoting unbiased evaluation based solely on the quality of the research.
Step 1: Submission
-
Authors submit their manuscript via the journal’s online submission system.
-
All submissions are screened for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software.
Step 2: Initial Editorial Screening
-
Upon submission, the Editorial Team performs an initial screening to ensure that the manuscript fits the journal’s scope and adheres to the submission guidelines.
-
If the manuscript passes this screening, it is forwarded to potential reviewers.
Step 3: Double-Blind Peer Review
-
Reviewer Selection: The editorial team selects at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject matter of the manuscript.
-
Anonymity: In this Double-Blind Peer Review system, both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous to each other.
-
Review Process: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:
-
Originality: Does the manuscript present novel ideas or a unique contribution to the field?
-
Relevance: Is the topic relevant to the scope of the journal?
-
Methodology: Are the research methods sound and appropriate for the study?
-
Clarity: Is the manuscript well-organized and clearly written?
-
Impact: What is the potential impact of the findings on the field of legal scholarship?
-
References: Are the references adequate and up-to-date?
-
Step 4: Review Feedback
-
Reviewers' Comments: Reviewers provide detailed feedback, including suggestions for revisions, comments on the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript, and recommendations for publication (accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection).
-
Recommendation to Author: The editorial team collects the feedback from both reviewers and makes a final decision. Authors are notified of the decision along with the reviewers' comments and suggestions.
Step 5: Revision Process
-
If revisions are required, authors are given a specific period (usually 2-4 weeks) to revise their manuscript based on the reviewers' comments.
-
The revised manuscript is re-submitted to the editorial team, which checks whether the required revisions have been made.
-
In cases of major revisions, the manuscript may go through an additional round of peer review.
Step 6: Final Decision
-
After reviewing the revised manuscript, the editorial team makes a final decision:
-
Accepted: The manuscript is accepted for publication.
-
Minor Revisions: The manuscript is accepted with minor revisions. The revised manuscript is reviewed again to ensure all issues are addressed.
-
Major Revisions: The manuscript requires substantial revisions. The authors are invited to resubmit after making the necessary changes.
-
Rejected: If the manuscript does not meet the journal's standards or fails to address major concerns, it is rejected.
-
Step 7: Publication
-
Once the manuscript is accepted, the authors are notified, and the manuscript proceeds to publication.
-
The final version is typeset, and authors receive a proof copy for approval before the manuscript is published online and in the print journal.
Step 8: Post-Publication
-
After publication, articles may be subject to additional post-publication review, including discussions in the legal community or comments from readers, which could lead to further revisions or clarifications.
Confidentiality
-
All manuscripts and review processes are confidential. Reviewers and authors are expected to maintain confidentiality at all stages of the process.
Ethical Considerations
-
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers are required to declare any conflicts of interest with the authors or the research topic. If a conflict arises, the reviewer must recuse themselves from the review process.
-
Bias: All parties involved in the review process must avoid any bias based on race, gender, religion, or nationality.
This Double-Blind Peer Review process ensures that the research published in the Journal of Reksakerta is of the highest academic quality and integrity.
