FOCUS

Dialektika: Journal of Islamic History is a journal published by the Islamic History and Civilisation Programme, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, State Islamic University Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, which focuses on academic, in-depth and critical studies of Islamic history. This journal aims to facilitate scholarly discussions on various events, figures, thoughts, and historical dynamics that shape the development of Islamic civilisation from classical to contemporary times at local, national, and international levels.

FOKUS PEMBAHASAN

Dialektika: Jurnal Sejarah Islam merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh program studi Sejarah dan Peradaban Islam, Fakultas Adab dan Humaniora, Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung yang berfokus pada kajian akademik, mendalam dan kritis terhadap sejarah Islam. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi diskusi ilmiah tentang berbagai peristiwa, tokoh, pemikiran, dan dinamika sejarah yang membentuk perkembangan peradaban Islam dari masa klasik hingga kontemporer baik itu di tingkat lokal, nasional maupun internasional.

SCOPE

Dialektika: Journal of Islamic History covers a broad range of themes related to the history, thought, and civilization of Islam. The journal explores the early development of Islam in Arabia, including the role of the Rightly Guided Caliphs in shaping political and religious systems, as well as the dynamics of the caliphates, such as the Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties. It also examines the spread of Islam across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe. In addition to historical events, the journal delves into Islamic thought, highlighting the intellectual contributions of figures like Ibn Khaldun and Al-Ghazali, and the development of knowledge in various fields, including science, medicine, and philosophy. Furthermore, it discusses the contributions of Islamic civilization to the world.

The journal also includes the history of Islam in the Nusantara, addressing the introduction of Islam to the region, the role of Islamic kingdoms such as Samudra Pasai, Demak, and Mataram Islam, and the relationship between Islam and the local cultures of the region. Another important area of focus is the social and cultural history of Islam, which includes the study of scholarly traditions, social life in Muslim societies throughout history, and the influence of Islam on art, architecture, and literature.

Dialektika also covers the political and economic aspects of Islamic history, including governance systems within the caliphates, the economic dynamics of the Islamic world, and diplomatic relations and trade between Islamic civilizations and others. Finally, the journal addresses the contemporary history of the Islamic world, examining the impact of colonialism and imperialism, the development of Islam in the modern era (from the 19th century to the present), and the relationship between Islamic history and contemporary global issues.

RUANG LINGKUP

Dialektika: Jurnal Sejarah Islam mencakup berbagai tema yang terkait dengan sejarah, pemikiran, dan peradaban Islam. Jurnal ini membahas sejarah Islam klasik, termasuk perkembangan awal Islam di Arab dan peran Khulafaur Rasyidin dalam pembentukan sistem politik dan keagamaan. Selain itu, jurnal ini juga mengeksplorasi dinamika kekhalifahan, seperti Dinasti Umayyah dan Abbasiyah, serta penyebaran Islam di wilayah Timur Tengah, Asia, Afrika, dan Eropa. Selain kajian sejarah, jurnal ini juga membahas pemikiran keislaman dengan menyoroti kontribusi tokoh-tokoh besar seperti Ibnu Khaldun, Al-Ghazali, dan lainnya. Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan di dunia Islam, termasuk sains, kedokteran, filsafat, serta kontribusi peradaban Islam terhadap dunia juga menjadi bagian penting dari ruang lingkup pembahasan jurnal ini.

Jurnal ini juga membahas sejarah Islam di Nusantara, mencakup awal masuknya Islam ke wilayah tersebut, peran kerajaan-kerajaan Islam seperti Samudra Pasai, Demak, dan Mataram Islam, serta hubungan Islam dengan budaya lokal Nusantara. Dalam aspek sejarah sosial dan budaya Islam, Dialektika mengkaji tradisi keilmuan dalam dunia Islam, pola kehidupan sosial masyarakat Muslim sepanjang sejarah, serta pengaruh Islam terhadap seni, arsitektur, dan sastra. Aspek sejarah politik dan ekonomi Islam juga dibahas, termasuk sistem pemerintahan dan administrasi kekhalifahan, dinamika ekonomi dunia Islam sepanjang sejarah, serta hubungan diplomasi dan perdagangan antar peradaban. Terakhir, jurnal ini juga mengulas sejarah kontemporer dunia Islam, membahas pengaruh kolonialisme dan imperialisme terhadap dunia Islam, perkembangan Islam di era modern (abad ke-19 hingga kini), dan hubungan antara sejarah Islam dengan isu-isu global kontemporer.
