Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts submitted to IHDINA: Journal for Islamic Counseling and Psychotherapy are subject to plagiarism screening using reliable similarity detection software such as Turnitin. Manuscripts that indicate plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be immediately rejected.
IHDINA Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and requires all authors to comply with international ethical norms, particularly concerning originality and proper attribution of sources.
Plagiarism is defined as the use of ideas, data, information, or wording derived from other works without appropriate acknowledgment of the original source. Regardless of intent, plagiarism constitutes a serious violation of academic ethics and is unacceptable in scholarly publications.
Authors are required to provide proper citations whenever specific information—such as names, dates, locations, statistical data, or other detailed facts—is obtained from identifiable sources. Exceptions apply only to widely recognized general knowledge that is commonly available across multiple credible sources.
When an author adopts or adapts ideas from other scholars, appropriate citation is mandatory, even if the idea is further developed or reinterpreted. This includes theoretical perspectives, methodological approaches, interpretations of findings, and general conceptual frameworks. Authors should acknowledge the original source before presenting their own elaboration or analysis.
Direct use of another author’s wording requires both citation and the use of quotation marks. If four or more consecutive words are identical to the original source, quotation marks must be used; citation alone is insufficient.
The editorial board of IHDINA Journal for Islamic Counseling and Psychotherapy treats academic misconduct with utmost seriousness and reserves the right to reject, retract, or withdraw acceptance of manuscripts that fail to meet these ethical standards.
IHDINA Journal upholds strict plagiarism standards:
