About the Journal
Ars Sacra: Journal of Arts and Religion is an international peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Study Program of Religious Studies, Faculty of Ushuluddin, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, in collaboration with the Faculty of Philosophy, Parahyangan Catholic University, and the Christian State Institute (IAKN) of Ambon.
This journal is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research in the fields of art and religion, with a special focus on how the sacred, the aesthetic, and the symbolic intersect in various religious and artistic traditions. All submitted articles undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality and integrity.
Ars Sacra aims to disseminate critical, contextual, and globally relevant knowledge that explores how art functions as a medium of religious expression, experience, and communication. The journal aspires to serve as a world-class scholarly platform for researchers, artists, theologians, and cultural critics who investigate the interplay between sacred symbols and artistic forms in both traditional and contemporary contexts.
