Ruang Lingkup Layanan Referensi di Perpustakaan Umum Daerah Sumedang

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the scope of reference services at the Sumedang Regional Public Library which includes information sources, types of services, service functions, workflow of a librarian, questions frequently asked by users, literature search assistance, competence of a librarian, the role of a librarian, aspects of facilities, and evaluation of the results of a librarian’s performance in reference services. Services is the spearhead of the library. The success of failure of the library can be seen from the quality of its services. Using qualitative research with descriptive approach method; research place; Sumedang Regional Public Library, Situ Street, North Sumedang, Sumedang Regency, West Java Province: Mrs. Ajeng Inten Legi Novita Sarip: research time: December 14, 2024. The results of the study show that the scope of reference services in this library has been carried out well, although there are still obstacles from the lack of human resources that need to be improved.  Sumedang Regional Public Library successfully cooperated with several library institutions in Bandung such as the West Java Provincial Library and Archives Office (Dispusipda).
